1. Emergency meeting in line with the Kano State Police command’s commitment to public safety and security was convened on Friday, 15th of March, 2024 by the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc while all Kano Metropolitan Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) were summoned into closedoor meeting and tasked to reinforce efforts towards ensuring smooth traffic flow and maintaining round-the-clock visibility patrols. The meeting is also to find ways for addressing issues around traffic congestion and to put in place adequate police presence at all locations where religious and social gatherings are conducted. Also to deter criminal activities and prepare adequately on how to respond to the increasing need for efficient traffic flow and enhanced the necessary security measures need to police the month of Ramadan that is associated with religious preachings and sermons.

3. At the end of the meeting the Commissioner of Police assures the public that the Command will remain committed to creating a safer and more secured environment for all Kano residents and visitors alike. In addition, members of the public are urged to fully cooperate with the Police, adhere to traffic rules and regulations, increase vigilance, and promptly report any suspicious activities.
