The Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, recently played host to Her Excellency Annika Hahn-Englund, the Ambassador of Sweden, during a courtesy visit to the Commission’s headquarters. The meeting served as a platform for the EVC and the Swedish Ambassador to engage in discussions on potential areas of collaboration between the NCC and Sweden, particularly focusing on capacity building and skills development initiatives.

During the visit, Dr. Maida highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships to support the Knowledge Pillar of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, led by the Honorable Minister Dr. Bosun Tijjani. He highlighted the significance of opportunities for staff exchange programs between the NCC and Swedish counterparts, emphasizing the mutual benefits derived from sharing best practices and fostering knowledge transfer within the telecommunications industry.

The discussions between the EVC and the Swedish Ambassador highlighted a commitment to enhancing collaboration between Nigeria and Sweden in the telecommunications sector. As both nations seek to leverage each other’s expertise and resources, the visit laid the groundwork for future initiatives aimed at driving innovation, promoting skills development, and advancing the digital economy agenda in Nigeria.
