Dr. Bernard Ozigi, Director, Technology Business Development and SA, General Matters to the EVC/CEO and an awardee of the best staff of NASENI headquarters presenting the Choicest Star award to the EVC/CEO and flanked by Principal Officers, Special Advisers and other award recipients at the event.

The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has commended the Agency’s headquarters staff for their hard work, resilience and dedication throughout year 2024.

 

Speaking at the NASENI Award Ceremony to honour outstanding staff held on January 25, 2025, in Abuja, Mr Halilu attributed the Agency’s successes in driving Nigeria’s industrialization through science and engineering to the collective efforts of its staff.

 

“Our projects, partnerships, and innovations are proof of what is possible when we work together as a team with a shared vision,” he said, urging staff to maintain unity, strive for excellence, and embrace creativity to achieve even greater milestones in 2025. He called for a renewed commitment to excellence in service delivery.

 

The event, which celebrated staff achievements and fostered a shared vision of excellence, saw awards presented to 15 outstanding members of staff. The awards recognized punctuality, commitment, innovation, and resilience. Each winner went home with gifts and plaque.

 

Among the winners include the Special Adviser to the EVC on General Matters and Director of Technology Business Development, Engr. Bernard Ozigi as Staff of the Year (NASENI Headquarters, Abuja) for transparency, teamwork and timely delivery of assignments.

 

Other awardees are the Best Staff in the Information, New Media and Protocol (INP) Unit, EVC’s Office, Mrs Chinyere Obiora-Ekwuazi; Mr. Yusuf Ibrahim, Finance and Account Department; Mrs. Kafayat Oyewo, Planning and Business Development Department; and Mr. Usman Maikudi, Admin and Human Resources Department.

 

Other departmental winners include: Dr. (Mrs.) Kehinde Samuel-Ajakaiye, Manufacturing Services Department; Engr. Amar Muhammad Bello, Technical Services Department; and Engr. Olaogun Olusola Aderemi, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.

 

Also on the list of winners were: Mrs. Adaora Ann Oguejiofor, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Natural and Physical Sciences Departments; Miss Ngozi Okafor, Nano Science Department; Mrs. Yahaya Salamatu, Laboratory Development Department; and Mrs. Adebayo Anne Olutope, Policy Analysis Department.

 

Additionally, Miss Blessing Abani, EVC Office; Umar Madaki, and Abdullahi Muhammad were recognized as the best-performing staff in their respective departments, with Abdullahi Muhammad also named Best Driver of the Year. The EVC/CEO, Mr. Halilu also won the Staff Best Choice Award for his innovative and exemplary leadership.

 

The highlights of the event were the presentation of the gifts to the first staff to arrive at the venue of the ceremony, best male and best female dressed staff at the event by NASENI’ Good Vibes Committee, led by its chair, Mrs. Grace Magaji (EVC Office).
