The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a conducive and productive work environment for staff of the Agency.

 

Speaking at the first-quarter 2025 Meeting of Directors of Administration and Human Resources (MOHAN) of the Agency which began at the Innovation Hub, NASENI Headquarters, Abuja, he commended the Directorate of Administration for its role in maintaining a healthy and efficient workplace culture.

 

Mr. Halilu while declaring the two-day meeting open emphasized the importance of feedback from junior staff in shaping effective administration. He noted a decline in reports of workplace conflicts, highlighting that for the past month, he has not received any emails regarding office violence or misconduct.

 

“The rate at which I received emails at random locations has drastically reduced,” he stated, citing this as a testament to the improved work environment. The EVC stressed that an organization’s reputation is not solely measured by attracting investors or executing projects but also by the experiences of its employees.

 

He praised the collaboration between the Administration and Human Resources departments and the Agency’s unions, which has led to significant achievements that would have otherwise taken years to accomplish. Encouraging staff to sustain the momentum, he described NASENI as the evolving workplace that people would take pride in being part of, emphasizing the establishment of the “Good Vibes Team” committee.

 

In her opening remarks, the Secretary to the Agency (STA), Dr. Olayinka Komolafe appreciated the EVC for recognizing the critical role of administrators in the Agency’s success, saying MOHAN has been instrumental in fostering administrative synergy and transitioning towards proactive, innovative and adaptive management.

 

She further noted that as NASENI continues to drive technological advancement on national and international fronts, administrative officers must enhance their skills to effectively manage workforce dynamics and operational complexities.

 

Also, in his goodwill message at the event, Coordinating Director, Science Infrastructure Directorate, NASENI, Prof. Umar Ibrahim Gaya, represented by the Director of Natural and Physical Science, Alh. Ado Galadima praised the Administration and Human Resources Directorate for their efforts and urged them to sustain their performance.

 

Earlier in her welcome address, Deputy Director, Staff Training and Welfare, Dr. Uche Aham Ucheobi, encouraged participants to actively engage with the presentations and ensure knowledge is shared with colleagues who were not part of the meeting, thereby improving service delivery across the Agency.
