The Chairman of NASME Kogi State Chapter, Umar Ahmed Tijani, successfully facilitated a courtesy meeting for Hon. Kadiri Okeji, the Managing Director of the Kogi Enterprises Development Agency (KEDA), with the President and Chairman of the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME). Discussions focused on fostering entrepreneurship development in Kogi State.

 

During the meeting, the NASME President expressed satisfaction with the prospect of partnering with KEDA, pledging technical assistance and support to boost the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the state. The partnership is expected to strengthen support systems for small businesses and promote sustainable economic growth.

 

The MD/CEO of KEDA, in his response, expressed appreciation for the proposed collaboration. He highlighted the importance of the existing entrepreneurial ecosystem, which has a proven record of benefiting businesses in the state. Hon. Okeni stated, “The Kogi State Government has a work-in-progress Agricultural Scheme being championed by the Executive Governor of Kogi State.” He welcomed further efforts to bolster Kogi’s business environment, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), and trade development.

 

Both parties underscored the potential in these sectors to create jobs and stimulate economic growth. The NASME President further emphasized the need for the Kogi State Government to invest in infrastructure to support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

 

The NASME Chairman of Kogi State, during the visit, commended the efforts of the KEDA MD/CEO and the administration of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo in creating an enabling environment for business. He also pledged support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by ensuring that micro and nano businesses are integrated into the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) database to benefit from future opportunities.
