On 14th May 2024, the Chairperson of the Kano State Chapter of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Hajiya Aishatu Mohammed Gumel begins a tour of Police Area Commands and Police Mobile Force Squadron bases in the State. The purpose of this tour is to assess the conditions of leaving at the Police Barracks and to engage with the Police Officers’ Wives and their families and to create platform for identifying with critical stakeholders in the state.
Today’s engagement saw the Chairperson visit to Metro and Hotoro Area Commands as well as No. 9 Police Mobile Force Squadron in Hotoro, Kano. Other areas visited are the police primary Schools. Going forward, the chairperson directly interacted with the Police Officers including their Wives and their Families particular focus on understanding their challenges and how to offer support where needed.
This initiative highlights the commitment of the Chairperson of Kano State Chapter of POWA to the well-being of Officers’ Wives and their families. The tour also provided opportunity for the Chairperson to listen the concerns of the Police Officers Wives and Women Police, with a focus on improving their living and working conditions.
The Chairperson had also reiterated POWA priority towards ensuring a safe, supportive, and conducive environment for all members of the Police Force and their families.
