The Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Dr. Aminu Maida, gave enlightening speeches at the Telecoms Industry Risk Management Conference, which was hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. Attendees at the conference, “Evolution and Future Risk Management in the Telecoms Industry: Harnessing Emerging Technologies and Trends,” included academics, financial institutions, risk experts, and telecom workers, among other various stakeholders.
Dr. Maida stressed in his introductory remarks the vital significance of efficient risk management in the quickly changing telecom sector. He emphasized the importanceance of tackling new trends and technologies, especially the upcoming switch to 6G and the possible introduction of 7G technology.
In light of the telecom industry’s ongoing rapid expansion and innovation, Dr. Maida emphasized the necessity of taking preventative action to lessen the dangers involved. He listed the possible advantages and difficulties of the transition to 6G, including reduced latency, quicker speeds, and innovative uses. But he also emphasized how critical it is to confront emerging concerns including cybersecurity dangers and moral dilemmas.
As we anticipate the arrival of 7G technology, Dr. Maida stressed the need of teamwork, creativity, and taking a proactive approach to risk management. He noted that new obstacles in wireless communication arise with every generational leap, and that it takes a coordinated effort to foresee and efficiently handle them.
Dr. Maida covered the evolution of connectivity as well as the ramifications of cutting-edge technology like blockchain, quantum computing, and sophisticated artificial intelligence.
