… As the GM TCN Gives Security Advisories on Sudden Changes in Weather; the CP also Calls on Residents to be Patriotic in Safeguarding Critical National Infrastructures that are Meant to Benefit Everyone
In two (02) separate visits to KEDCO and TCN respectively, while the General, KEDCO Ag. MD/CEO commends CP Gumel for prompt response to distress calls and arrest of nine (09) vandals, the TCN General Manager thanked the CP for finding time for the visit and assured that the seven affected power feeders have since been restored and a newly high capacity transformer is about to be fixed in a short while.
On 12th of March 2024, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command undertook two separate visits to the Office of the Acting Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of KEDCO and the General Manager, of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) where he commiserated with them on the recent fire incident that destroyed some part of the service station at Dan Agundi power transmission station in Kano Metropolis.
2. While responding, the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Mallam Abubakar Yusuf stated “Today is a blessed day for us as we receive the Commissioner of Police in our office. We must commend the CP for the effort in ensuring that our facilities are safe, the arrest of vandals as well as securing the State in general.
3. Similarly, the General Manager, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Regional Office, Engr. Bashir Mohammed Gote thanked the Commissioner of Police for the police command’s prompt response to the distress call over the recent fire incident that affected TCN facilities at Dan Agundi Service Station. He also commended the CP for the sustained security intervention during the inferno.
4. The GM also thanked the good people of the State and urged them to note that this season is associated with high temperatures and associated fire outbreak risks. The MD also said that to the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc and advises the general public good to be careful while using fire and electricity, and also not to be leaving cooking gas unattended, avoid indiscriminate bush burning, desist from storing inflammable items and keeping gas cylinders indoors.
5. Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police appreciated the good people of the State for their support, cooperation, and understanding; urged everyone to be patriotic in safeguarding critical national infrastructures that are meant to benefit all citizens.
