In his response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc stated that “I welcome this very critical entourage to the Police Command led by the provost/CEO from the Federal College of Technology, Kano. Indeed, it is a strategic and important visit because the discussion will play a pivotal role in ensuring food security in the State. Moving forward, our door is always open and we are ready to support you in implementing your policies. On my arrival to the State as Commissioner of Police, there were a lot of security challenges especially, the daylight and night armed robbery, thuggery (Fadan Yan Daba) and other violent criminal activities. Consequently, the Police Command incorporated both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches and as a result, the Command arrested and prosecuted more than one thousand (1000+) suspects for various offenses. In addition, the Command also received and profiled 663 repentant thugs with so many injected into different life-changing programs. Finally, the Police Command is seeking your support and collaboration in training and empowering some of these youths. Thank you for the visit.”
