On the 11th of March 2024 which marked the commencement day of Ramadan, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc received a letter of commendation from Northern Nigeria Flour Mills (NNFM) Plc for the manner at which diligent investigation was conducted at the time, the CP was chairing lecture with all Heads of Departments (HODs), Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Commanders, Sectional Heads, and other senior officers of the Command.

  1. The letter reads in parts:
    I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for your prompt attention and assistance in the matter of the goods that were recently held by your department (CID).

We acknowledge the receipt of 700 bags of sugar, which you released to us. We appreciate the efforts and professionalism demonstrated by your department throughout the handling of this matter. Your commitment to upholding the law and ensuring a fair resolution is commendable.

As per our records, we have received all the items in the condition they were seized, and we are grateful for the care taken during the release process. We understand the importance of maintaining the integrity of legal procedures, and should there be any additional information required or formalities to be completed on our end, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Once again, we extend our appreciation for your professionalism and efficiency in handling this matter.

During his lecture, the Commissioner of Police appreciated the supervising police officers for their efforts in crime fighting and further charged them to ensure the free flow of traffic and adequate security coverage at Tafseer venues where it can attract crowds. This is to prevent opportunity crimes crimes from thriving. The CP Finally, urged the officers not to be reluctant but to double their efforts as the reward of good work is indeed more work.
